Preferably, no thumbs and in particular no imageshack. I hate it for it's non existent speed. Please make sure that your editor adds a byte order mark (also called BOM) and saves the XML als UTF-8. Notepad2 for example does this reliably.

OK. Note that you do not have to delete existing applications before importing, since they will be overwritten anyway.

First of all: Never *ever* try editing an SQLite database with Notepad or the like. It's not like an XML file! That'd be the same as if you edited Ketarin.exe with Notepad. Secondly: What exactly do you want to "manage"? A suggestion: Export everything to XML, edit it and import it again. There shouldn't be any loss of information. If there is, I'd need to fix that bug.

The primary tutorial for Ketarin explains how the basics of Ketarin work, how variables can be used, what kind of functions and special variables there are and more. Make sure to read it if you want to use Ketarin's abilities to the fullest!

"Split" is a good idea. Regarding trimend: version = 3.5.6. version:trimend:. = 3.5.6 version:trimstart:.3 = 5.6.

I'm happy to read that Well, some webmasters may want to stop Ketarin, but I think that they will fail because Ketarin should be able to download everything that a normal user can download using a web browser. We'll see about that when it becomes necessary

I fixed the latter problem. The first one is not a problem. Ketarin will only replace the variables, if the contents have already been downloaded (that is, cached content is available). For the {url:ext} variable (special variable) the content is only available when a download has started. It's not stored in the database.

The XML should be quite back- and forward compatible. The variables are case sensitive. For non FileHippo downloads, you'll have to define {version} yourself. There also is an online database where you can import existing applications defined by other people. What do you expect as commands? All there is to Ketarin is explained in the tutorial. With these few features, you can already do virtually anything

In the next version, there will be a list of variables ready for insertion within the context menus of the text boxes.

I just thought about this stuff a little more: I think we should create a new category and determine one or two voluntary moderators (not me) who care about it. That would mean: Move inappropriate topics out, move appropriate topics in and modify posted topics so that they all have some kind of "tutorial" style and are consistent. The XML could be attached as code-section to the bottom, since it usually is not *that* big (for one application).

You could run bat files, but those won't have direct access to variables.

I don't need bandwidth or a server, since Ketarin is "supported" by CDBurnerXP. We already have two powerful servers with plenty of bandwidth

Sure it's possible. If we bring a certain amount of examples, a separate forum is best. I currently have no place for sharing files (like your XML export), but you could upload it to some of those upload sites for the time being.

Some kind of drop down is planned. There won't be any conflicts. If a variable is defined multiple times, it uses the most "local" variable. So for example, global variables have a lower priority than per-application variables. I don't see for what you'd need a global variable though?

I'll make that box bigger soon enough, that is, when there is some kind of extra settings tab or the like so that the clutter is reduced somewhat. I just want to avoid some kind of "skyscraper dialog"
