  1. Thanks, makes me happy to see others find Ketarin useful
  2. But it doesn't help you to install anything, does it? BTW, you can actually emulate this feature for now by just keeping some disabled dummy applications that you can copy and paste for new purposes.
  3. Hi, I've recently come across an application called InstallPad (http://installpad.com/), which seems to be no longer in development. It has features which are very similar to Ketarin's, just...less advanced It does, however, have the additional ability to install applications, as opposed to only downloading them. It seems to me, that this might also be a nice addition to Ketarin. What do you think? I'd imagine it to work like this: 0. When adding applications, you specify some additional setup parameters. For example the installation method (copy file to a loction or execute file in case of an installer) or the parameter for silent installation. 1. You select some applications or all of them (I'm not sure yet how. Maybe I'll ad checkboxes to the list or add an additional dialog.) You could have "profiles" which groups multiple applications, or for the start maybe just a selection based on the category. 2. You specify whether or not to have silent installations (if possible) and to update all applications to be installed before starting the setup. 3. Ketarin launches the setup routines and shows some kind of progress dialog during the process.
  4. Well, I cannot actually change the startup time (time required for the application to load), but only the time that is needed to fill the application list. It's hard to believe though, that it's slower than in 1.0.9, because I didn't add any features that would make loading slower than before. There is only one further optimisation I can do, which would probably make loading the list somewhat instant, but then grouping would no longer be possible on OSes older than Vista.
  5. I don't think so. Reading from the database is actually pretty fast. As far as I can see, the file operations are currently the slowest part.
  6. I uploaded a new beta with a couple of speed improvements. It still no "instant" loading, but sould be somewhat faster.
  7. If someone just gives me a huge/slow database file, I can do some debugging.
  8. Expect there to be some updates in the next beta
  9. Ah, I see. Thanks. I guess that I will just disable the re-sorting if the ListView is grouped. I didn't have mine grouped, so I wasn't able to reproduce the problem.
  10. Slower compared to 1.0.9? I don't think that there is something new in this regard. Feel free to send me your database so I can check. It shouldn't be that slow. And I don't think that I can fix the selection issue before I can actually reproduce that. Hopefully andreone can find the source of the problem.
  11. So far, no one ever requested that. Variables that cannot be resolved are simply ignored. Some day maybe, but how is that useful?
  12. What kind of error do you expect? I don't get any errors when I download the file. Maybe it's an OS issue? Which is yours?
  13. I cannot reproduce either of these errors. If possible, please provide more details.
  14. Doesn't that depend on the way your list is sorted? I don't think that I made any changes in this regard.
  15. Works fine for me. What about XML export? Is it working properly?
  16. Updated the beta now with the bug fixes.
  17. I'll fix the XML in the next version. Regarding the file size comparison: I guess I can fix your particular case for the next version. Note, however, that the comparison will only start to work once the file has been downloaded, so that the actual file information can be saved to the database.
  18. What I'd actually like is maybe an addional video, which shows the advanced stuff with variables. Then we could have two tutorials: On efor the basics, and one for the complex and really cool stuff
  19. "Check for updates only" never downloads anything. "ignore file information if missing" instead only changes the basis of the comparison.
  20. I don't care. Seriously, this only shows that these AV scanners absolutely have no clue and are useless for the most part.
  21. +Fields for application website and user notes +Option to open website instead of edit application +Option to ignore file information for update checks +Allow variables in referrers !Fixed: /log does not work with /silent !Properly specify encoding for exported XML files Beta 2: +Status column and different icons for "update found" and "update downloaded" *Updated SQLite (should be faster) !Fixed scrolling back to the top after update Beta 3: *Some speed improvements Final: * Canceling the update progress is now faster http://ketarin.canneverbe.com/downloads/Ketarin/Ketarin-1.1.0.zip
