Nope, global variables are just "constants", user defined strings like file locations or command templates.
-
Now fixed in .16, thanks for the report.
-
The problem appears to be the fact that Ketarin does not submit a user agent. I'll fix that for the next version.
-
I've implemented this for .15 now
-
Good to know, thanks

I can't tell who is who
-
Well, if you didn't import anything, you cannot get any updates on imported applications. Seems reasonable to me.
-
It's not gone. If it does not pop up, maybe there is an error? It would appear in the log then. If there is no error, it just doesn't mind any updates. Maybe you didn't import and applications from the online database?
-
Yep, exactly.
-
So this is our database: 21 authors, over 300 apps.
As you can see, there are 3 pretty active authors. I'm only No. 8
-
FranciscoR: Where is actually the difference between "mirrors" and "alternate download links"?
@appyface: It's the start of the application, if updates are found and the internet connection is available.
-
The log is not currently saved anywhere. What worries me more is that Ketarin terminates, because it shouldn't do that as .NET application. I should probably add an error dialog with a reporting feature as in CDBurnerXP when I get the time.
The issue should be fixed now.
-
Should work properly now.
-
The question will pop up once a day, that is, if updates are found. I'll add an option to disable this feature, if you don't need it.
And yes, I forgot to update the version number in the about dialog, but in general, the name of the ZIP file is more important.
FranciscoR: What about these multiple apps? Do you have them as mirrors?
JohnSim3: Don't know about problems with FileHippo yet, difficult to tell.
-
It is actually .13. But I used different names for the variable, see documentation
-
Well, there is not much I can do about the update "problem": You could create your own jobs (not using the one from the application database, or create a copy of them), but this feature is *meant* to change the URL if necessary. For example, the website of an application might change and thus the URLs and variables. If you then update from the online database, you don't have to do any adjustments yourself. Of course, this will overwrite the changes you made to an application.
So after finishing all downloads, does the "Cancel" button go back to normal? Could you possibly copy and paste the log (now that there is one )?
-
There still seems to be a problem checking filehippo links, as after a few of filehippo links have been checked, other subsequent filehippo links all time out, making the update check fail. This seems to be only affecting filehippo links, though.
The latest version is 0.9.9.13 which fixed the problem.
I don't see a problem with FileHippo though, works fine for me here.
-
0.9.9.13 doesn't work for me, it modifies my database replacing custom url with online database url, and close button doesn't work for me. Back to .11.
What do you mean? If you choose to update your applications from the online database, the URLs might of course be changed.
Regarding the close button: It will never work if Ketarin is currently downloading, and this was the case for all previous versions as well.

Don't know yet...
Well, it is a single switch now, but if you consider future options, there will be a lot more options and thus controls. Actually, you could use "rem" for example to just comment the commands
-
What about the latest .12?
Edit: I think I fixed it now in .13.
-
-
Actually, I'd like to avoid too many controls...
-
I'll implement {basename} and {ext} (should be easy), but your last idea sounds to complicated to me.
-
So Ketarin successfully determines the actual download URL (path to the file), but you just want to store it using a different file name, based on the determined download URL and the version, scraped from somewhere else?
Tell the user weather or not .net is installed.

Well, I can't do that. Without .NET, Ketarin couldn't even show an error message.
