Yep, being worked on a solution. This XML RPC server breaks on any possible occasion unfortunately.
-
Download should be fixed again.
-
Hm that was easier than I thought. I wasn't able to reproduce a 10 minute download but I probably found a simple fix for this behaviour. Make sure to try the next release!
-
I'll have a look at it now
-
I tried userresponse.com, but what I don't like about it is that you can only have one vote per feature apparently.
I set up a demo site here:
https://ketarin.useresponse.com/topics
More suitable seems userecho, see the following demo site (and it might even be free depending on the features I need):
https://ketarin.userecho.com/list/44339-general/?category=0
What do you think about the last option?
-
Thanks, will include that in the next release.
-
Hm looks like they no longer provide a free plan. Even though affording it is not a problem, 20 USD/mo is terribly overpriced for the most basic plan (which is nothing but a better to-do list) in my opinion. Need to look for alternatives first.

Yes, a forum always has the disadvantage that you still don't know what to do next
I'll set up a site, fill it with the content of my todo list and let you vote.
-
I always have trouble with finding what to do next for an application (other than fixing bugs). In case of CDBurnerXP I created a UserVoice forum (check http://cdburnerxp.uservoice.com/forums/165656-feature-requests) so that I see what people demand most. It has the disadvantage that it will get attention to features I don't have sufficient time to implement, but other than that it's a very good tool.
I still have quite a large Ketarin todo list on my desktop and think it would be a good idea to put all open suggestions into a UserVoice forum so that everyone can vote on it and I get a better feeling for what I should tackle next.
Thoughts?

I will add this for the next version, easy enough to extend HTTPX.
-
You mean a command line option? Or some button in the GUI "update and exit"?
-
I'm not fimilar with that protection, what exactly does it do?
-
I don't think I can work extensively on proxy support at the moment, but maybe the .NET configuration options are a possibility: http://lastattacker.blogspot.de/2011/06/configuring-proxy-settings-in-net.html
-
Oh, this selection behaviour is indeed a bit silly, I will try to turn that off. For the moment you can also make a selection using the Shift key + arrow left/right though.
-
Can you send me your database? I'm sure there is some way to fix this startup issue.
-
Changes:
+Added command line argument "import" (similar to "export") with optional "clear" flag for deleting all existing applications (/clear cannot be used on its own)
+Allow variables in user agent string
!Fixed: Some FileHippo downloads may not work (https://ketarin.org/forum/topic/3497-unable-to-download-some-filehippo-apps/)
!Fixed: WebException on HTTPS websites supporting only SSL3
Download: https://ketarin.org/download
Is there anything that needs attention currently?
-
I'll add an "/import" and "/clear" parameter for the next version, hope this helps (surprised this isn't actually done yet).
However, changing how the SQLite-DB is used will probably cause more trouble than it's worth it (and I don't have time for such changes anyway), so don't hope for any changes there at the moment.
-
I understand your concern, but I decided against adding these additional fields in the past because it would make the already quite complex dialog even more complex (each additional control put there adds more "weight").
-
No, there is something wrong with the URL. In Ketarin, the server only returns a few \n characters. If you put it into other websites (like http://www.hurl.it/) you get just "[]". Not sure how it decides what to output. If you find out, let me know.
-
It probably depends on what Ketarin checks for changes. Can you provide an app XML that makes this reproducible?
-
Can you send in the XML of your application so that I can check?
-
Which applications exactly are affected?
-
[by the way, isn't it illegal to use GPL code (ObjectListView) with closed source code (some parts of CDburnerXP as the website states)?]
Actually not, when I started using this list view I paid for a commercial license, so that should pe perfectly fine.
it has too many calls to user32.dll.Is that still a problem with the current state of WinAPI emulation? I don't believe these function cals should be much of a problem. I'm not going to replace the list view just for Unix usage though.
-
I might digitally sign future packages instead, that makes more sense I suppose.
Thanks for Ketarin!
