Network drive error

I store the programs to be updated by keratin on a NAS that is mapped as a drive letter. Ketarin works fine from the local root drive of the machine (c: drive) but if I attempt to place the ketarin folder (with ketarine.exe and System.Data.SQLite.DLL) on the NAS and run it, it immediately gives an error to send to Microsoft

"Ketarin has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

@panther,

I have run Ketarin successfully from my FreeNAS, but later abandoned it due to a lost wireless connection that resulted in a corrupt jobs.db file. I also placed my jobs.db file in the Ketarin folder on the FreeNAS for the experiment. I was already using it in my Ketarin folder on Drive C: as I had moved it from C:\Documents and Settings\'username'\Application Data\Ketarin from the very beginning to make Ketarin as 'portable' as possible. I highly advise AGAINST running Ketarin from any NAS wirelessly. See my posts regarding this HERE and HERE... I simply synch everything to FreeNAS currently and from there to my other PCs on the network. Hope this helps. ;)

Thank you for the quick response, however I am not using wireless in this equation. I have a 1G lan backbone to the hard wired ethernet NAS and the CPU (computer) is also direct ethernet.

BTW - Thanks for the development of this program. Though I have a need to run it from the NAS, it has saved me countless hours as I am using it now.

You're VERY welcome and welcome to the forum panther!

I am not using wireless in this equation.

You should not have any issues then other than a slightly decreased performance due to bandwidth from my testing.

BTW - Thanks for the development of this program.

ALL the praise should go to Florian... the mastermind behind Ketarin... I'm just a 'VERY happy user' that tries to help (handicaps and all). LOL

It has saved me countless hours as I am using it now.

AMEN to THAT... DITTO... for 1000+ apps daily! ;)

But the problem does exist as shown in my original posting. Before responding this time I have tried running Ketarin from several other computers with access to the NAS and all crash as indicated. This eliminates the one pc as a problem. Are there any recommendations, and will this be looked at further?

Be sure your settings have been updated to reflect the changes in paths is the next thing I would suggest...

Follow Up:

You did copy/move the jobs.db file to the Ketarin folder on the NAS, eeh?

If you are not able to get it going, I doubt seriously Flo has any interest in further investigation of this as it is beyond the designed scope of Ketarin... at least that's my take. I have been wrong before. ;)
