I have a need to log the time when daily update job has ended. But it seems that {HH}:{mm}:{ss} in "Command to execute after updating all applications" aren't replaced with actual time.

Oh and while we're at it could I please request a variable which will indicate the number of applications which were updated during the last update run ?

I have recently set myself a Windows Home Server and have moved my Ketarin to run from it. Using WHSAlert application I've set it up to post alerts on application updates through WHS Console. However it seems not possible to know whether the application has failed to download. Would it be possible to have a "Run command on application download failure" (one in global settings, and overridable per app entry) and {error_text} (or something like this) variable so that I can run an alert indicating that app {appname} failed to download due to {error_text}.

Sorry, misunderstood you. And yeah, I think it would be kinda cool to have a feature like that. Could be based on app detecting templates like CCleaner has.

The purpose of Ketarin is not to keep your machine up to date but to keep your distribution up to date. And as far as it goes there's simply no one better at the job than Ketarin.

As far as I understood Ketarin will abort on only exit code 1. You can use non-0, non-1 exit code then.

And it is. However I have found another minor problem. I am trying to share an application named TED (short for Torrent Episode Downloader). When I click OK a window pops up saying that the app with the same name already exists and asks me to choose another. The only app listed is "UltimateDefrag FREE".

It fixed itself. On 03.12.2009 I had problems, on 03.13.2009 I haven't had a single one. No idea what caused them or what made them go away.

May I been as bold and persistent as to suggest to add automatic {appname} population on template instantiation there too ? In the Minor Features of course I really, really miss this features as a lazy person I am.

It is strange but every time I try updating from FileHippo sources the number of failed entries lessens each update run. The error is always either just a timeout or timeout with the URL like in the example I've shown (not the same URL, mind you). It is good to hear that it's an isolated problem and not FileHippo blocking all Ketarin users.

Nope. If I did that would be the first thing to check. I had FileHippo failures for the whole day long so it's not a one-time problem either.

When running my batch update job almost all if not 100% of all FileHippo downloads time out. Files can be downloaded fine manually though. Would it be possible to implement a feature where the each time a new application entry is created than it's not just empty but uses a default app template. Basically it would be a way to pre-populate some fields without adding too much settings and using the existing and familiar approach. It can be done by reading default.xml in the app dir or something simple as that.

Found a little problem with the regexp. If trying to match NVIDIA Forceware 182.08 WHQL XP it will return two matches: 1) 182.08 WHQL XP (note the space before 182) 2) arch 4, 2009

If I add NOD32 (located at http://www.filehippo.com/download_nod32/) to Ketarin then it will scrape {version} as 32 AntiVirus 4.0.314. Could you please fix it Flo ?

Well, that last version I was using was 1.0.0 or something like that and it didn't have the issue. However it seems that the issue stopped reproducing so it could be just a random bug in C# libraries, not Ketarin. If I'll be able to pinpoint the issue I'll tell you more.

I have found an annoying graphical glitch in 1.0.3. When the app finishes updating and Ketarin switches to the next one all update progress bars (except for those which belong to the apps whose update is still in progress) disappear and re-appear in a second.
