appyface
Using Ketarin 1.6.400 (beta 3?). Used File -> Settings -> Export and created XML file. Launched Ketarin and created a new, blank, jobs.db file in the directory with Ketarin executable. Used File -> Settings -> Import and selected the XML file just created. No commands were imported into settings. I've confirmed they are present in the XML "PreUpdateCommand" area. Help? Thanks and regards, --appyface
Omniferum
Kinda need to see the .xml/log
appyface
Sure I can do that. But first, when you try it, does it work for you?
Omniferum
Haha, i'm trying to use the bloody method but everything I export hits a CDATA error and I have spent a while trying to clean up the CDATA crap. Regardless I got there, my commands import perfectly fine.
appyface
Sorry you're having problems exporting. Can someone else do it in the exact manner I described above? And using 'pre update' batch file commands? FWIW I'm on W7 Pro 64-bit + all m$ updates...
Omniferum
I'm on the same operating system and as I said, I found an app that doesn't have that problem and it imports the commands fine. A bug I did find is that if I use the actual 'export xml' command it gives me something I can't re-import due to CDATA! formatting being screwy. However a simple copy n' paste works fine. Right click on the app, copy then just right click paste. Also is this for ALL apps you have or just a specific one? Again a log/xml would be nice. appyface
AFAIK there is only one way to export settings, using the steps I wrote. How would you only export part of the settings? I don't understand your question about apps. Are you sure you're following my steps as written?
appyface
@Flo - any ideas about this one? Can you reproduce?
floele
Is it an update problem rather? So are the commands visible when opening the settings dialog again?
appyface
Here's the opening post again: SUBJECT: Import settings XML does not import commands Using Ketarin 1.6.400 (beta 3?). I'm very frustrated! Is no one able to follow the above steps? What is not clear about what I wrote? Put some commands into the 'pre-update' area in settings in existing db, export the settings XML, then import that settings XML into a brand-new blank db. Do the commands come in????? Tomorrow
Yep not only are the commands imported.Bigger problem is that Global Variables are not imported: http://ketarin.canneverbe.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=616 I mean the command you can atleast paste quicky but GV-s take time to re-enter even with pasting. Tomorrow
Also i've noticed that app install lists are not backed up either by settings or database export. And also Snippets are not exported. So to sum it up: Global Pre/Post Commands Global Variables Custom App Install Lists Snippets ...Would be nice if these were exportable/importable

floele
Except for the first command, the import works.
appyface
@Flo Not sure what you mean by "except for the first command"... I have three batch files running in the pre-update area -- none come in on settings import.
floele
Can't reproduce this behaviour. What I mean is that the command that is currently selected is not being imported.
Tomorrow
Well just tested and atleast the commands that run after all apps have been updated seem to be exported/imported.I have not tested commands that run before or after app updates tho.
