Not Responding

Hello all,

First of all, excellent program, you all should get a medal.

Second, I seem to be having an issue that I think is supposed to happen given the circumstances, but seem squite annoying.

I have a 4GB Kanguru USB drive I use for my Ketarin program.

I have 130 application, and in total 2.7GB of programs are updated to it.

Problem is that when I open the Ketarin program, I immediatly get the Not Responding on the window and it takes a good 60 seconds for the Ketarin program to finally allow me to access anything in order to run an update.

I have a very powerful system ....64-bit, Windows 7 Ultimate, 4GB RAM, and I have the device plugged into my USB 2.0 slot.

I have another 4GB USB device which is an exact image of the primary Ketarin drive (always have two +plus a backup on the system hard drive)

Both exibit the same probelms.

Is this expected for having 2.7GB of data?

Is there something I can do to try and make the loading faster?

I am curious because it seems as if the Ketrain program is doing some kind of "check" when it is loaded. It seems more applicable for it just to read a small xml file that contains the columns, but not the actual data, which I think it is doing when it loads.

I would imagine that the only time it needs to read the data is when it actually goes out and updates, either manually or automatically.

Well, I look forward to your thoughts, I really would like to make the program open up faster.

I just did something I should have done before I posted, and that was to defragment the drive.

I defragmented the drive (using the Winodows defragment program) and sure enough, the program responds within 5 - 10 seconds now, not bad.

At least this will help others if they have similar problems. It is always the simple stuff that get us.

to answer your questions:
