Guest Bielhelm
FIRST OF ALL: .. i am not a code programer. So i was very happy with ketarin and filehippo. Easy to use, insert, update and download. 2nd next easy i found downloading a pad file and combine it with ketarin. USED: I tried several of those templates... but it seems, that many of those file distributors are seeing a breach in security and maybe you are being accused of attacking websites or you are banned for downloading after all. IDEA: Shouldn´t the direct way from the primary release site of the Inventor be a better way, then trying a workaround of the major sites for downloading freeware with templates? Well, i found those (maybe interesting) sites for published files with direct path to the pad. and a search engine for each to find those precious pad-files at all... http://en.padfile.info/ PADFILE.INFO http://paddatabase.com/ PADDATABASE http://www.asp-shareware.org/pad/repository/user/search.php?Home=user ASP PADSEARCH REQUEST: * a file or datebase search for those sites would help finding pad-files, why don´t try to integrate them into the program for searching new freeware. * please publish more specific ketarin-xml files directly for merge to your own repository at home on this site, because the templates don´t rock at all or only for a short timeperiod. FranciscoR
Neither database seems very reliable, using the second link to search for 'Ccleaner' returns nothing, and using the link from the official PAD site you get http://www.webpctools.com/ccleaner.xml and http://www.ylcomputing.com/download/pads/kwd-pccleaner080325.xml This is misleading because Ketarin will download that although i was looking for a Piriform app. Maybe when major download sites start using PAD files this becomes more interesting (read the comments in the link below). http://padsites.asp-shareware.org/
hawu
Neither database seems very reliable, using the second link to search for 'Ccleaner' returns nothing, and using the link from the official PAD site you get http://www.webpctools.com/ccleaner.xml and http://www.ylcomputing.com/download/pads/kwd-pccleaner080325.xml Well, I do not want to nit-pick, but entries out of both XML files could not match for searching "ccleaner" because these files do not contain this string. ;-) (read the comments in the link below). http://padsites.asp-shareware.org/ And, by the way, this list is as old as the earth itself. The above mentioned site padfile.info did change its system and submission urls LAST SUMMER, but still in this list the old url is given. a file or datebase search for those sites would help finding pad-files padfile.info does offer such a search and retrival. But after the relaunch last year, they changed urls and I do not know the new ones. You should ask the webmasters. HaWu
hawu
And, as a last hint, the ketarin software PAD file will not be accepted by most automatic PAD file processors, because one rule says, that the PAD file url MUST end in ".xml". ;-)
FranciscoR
Good enought ? I guess it depends what you are looking for, searching for "pdf", "abbyy", "autocad" produces more interesting results, either padfile.info or http://www.asp-shareware.org/pad/repository/user/search.php?Home=user seem to be doing well actually. http://i43.tinypic.com/28umc1d.png http://i43.tinypic.com/2dmavqe.png FineReader 8... =( by the way, this list is as old as the earth itself. The above mentioned site padfile.info did change its system and submission urls LAST SUMMER, but still in this list the old url is given. Maybe they didn't update urls ? Do you know any updated list ? And, as a last hint, the ketarin software PAD file will not be accepted by most automatic PAD file processors, because one rule says, that the PAD file url MUST end in ".xml". ;-) Yep. hawu
I guess it depends what you are looking for Well, at first, the ASP-Shareware PAD Database is search against URL's, not content. According to this "ccleaner" (and others) is found while there is no string like this IN the PAD files (so all PAD sites do not show comparable results). searching for "pdf", "abbyy", "autocad" produces more interesting results, either padfile.info or asp-shareware seem to be doing well actually. ... FineReader 8... =( At second, yes, the search result gives FineReader 8. Certainly it does, because looking directly into the listing and there into the submitted PAD file, you will see, that the PAD file is even NAMED FineReader 8 and therefore ABBYY did not submit a general or new PAD file. CybTekSol
One feature regarding PAD files that I would love would be the ability to add apps in a batch mode by dropping a list of PAD file URLs onto the Ketarin GUI that adheres to one's presets... ahhh... maybe someday!
