CybTekSol
@Stalker, No problems here either. Have you changed any global settings for connection since your last successful FileHippo batch session?
Stalker
Nope. If I did that would be the first thing to check. I had FileHippo failures for the whole day long so it's not a one-time problem either.

FranciscoR
Stalker, not sure if this will help, but seems to me you're not capturing/missing the final "/" hxxp://www.filehippo.com/download/file/ddaf16dd0b9ec093d6fb20e234623173b5373441a0954fe7652f5a0722ee0806/ Edited March 12, 2009 by FranciscoR
CybTekSol
Stalker, not sure if this will help, but seems to me you're not capturing/missing the final "/" My log does not produce the final "/" either and it will download with or without the final "/" when the URL is pasted directly into Firefox... so, I'm convinced it's some other anomaly . Could be a laundry list of possibilities with WinDoze.

Stalker
It is strange but every time I try updating from FileHippo sources the number of failed entries lessens each update run. The error is always either just a timeout or timeout with the URL like in the example I've shown (not the same URL, mind you). It is good to hear that it's an isolated problem and not FileHippo blocking all Ketarin users.
FranciscoR
Stalker, have you fixed your problem ? What was the cause ?
Stalker
It fixed itself. On 03.12.2009 I had problems, on 03.13.2009 I haven't had a single one. No idea what caused them or what made them go away.
FranciscoR
Today I'm having a similar problem with my MajorGeeks template: only works of 1/2 of my jobs, no idea why. I have switched IP, but issue remains. =( Will follow this in the next few days.
FranciscoR
This must be some network issue, not Ketarin related. Early today (for the first time), I received 9 timeouts out of 15 MajorGeeks DL. Just about 1 min. ago I checked again and everything is back to normal, e.g. = 0.000 errors out of 15 MG. I have switched IP, but issue remains. =( Will follow this in the next few days. I have problems with MajorGeeks almost every few days. I have discovered their servers have a relatively high failure rate (although they are usually down for only a few hours) and have started to avoid MajorGeeks if apps are available elsewhere. Their 'Server 11' seems to be the most reliable for me here on the 'East Coast US'.
FranciscoR
Usually I don't have such problems... but I did remove {redir}. Like I told you, since my early testing I did experience several issues with it. On average I'm having 1 error/week (if so) over the last month (Western Europe?), and currently I do prefer MG to Softpedia (I'm still in shock with the user agent issue). But I was looking into the DB, and under the MG CachedContent I have several mirrors (I do select them by chance) =): files1.majorgeeks.com/files/6b3afa9ef5be19ff8e1648894f105b70/allinone/SyncToySetupPackage.exe files1.majorgeeks.com/files/6b3afa9ef5be19ff8e1648894f105b70/allinone/SyncToySetupPackage.exe files1.majorgeeks.com/files/6b3afa9ef5be19ff8e1648894f105b70/antivirus/MCPR.exe files1.majorgeeks.com/files/6b3afa9ef5be19ff8e1648894f105b70/antivirus/MCPR.exe files1.majorgeeks.com/files/6b3afa9ef5be19ff8e1648894f105b70/spyware/RootkitBuster_2.52.1013.zip files1.majorgeeks.com/files/6b3afa9ef5be19ff8e1648894f105b70/spyware/RootkitBuster_2.52.1013.zip files1.majorgeeks.com/files/ddcb155487b88aaa80aed158006bdbdf/office/AdbeRdr910_Lite_en_US.exe files1.majorgeeks.com/files/ddcb155487b88aaa80aed158006bdbdf/office/AdbeRdr910_Lite_en_US.exe files2.majorgeeks.com/files/c3e326c225a1539fe8f892c50dfdf169/recovery/restoration.zip files2.majorgeeks.com/files/c3e326c225a1539fe8f892c50dfdf169/recovery/restoration.zip files3.majorgeeks.com/files/6e908d2f26ba44f68ca184d2696ec807/antivirus/Norton_Removal_Tool.exe files3.majorgeeks.com/files/6e908d2f26ba44f68ca184d2696ec807/antivirus/Norton_Removal_Tool.exe files3.majorgeeks.com/files/6e908d2f26ba44f68ca184d2696ec807/browsers/JavaRa.zip files3.majorgeeks.com/files/6e908d2f26ba44f68ca184d2696ec807/browsers/JavaRa.zip files3.majorgeeks.com/files/6e908d2f26ba44f68ca184d2696ec807/recovery/EDR.zip files3.majorgeeks.com/files/6e908d2f26ba44f68ca184d2696ec807/recovery/EDR.zip files3.majorgeeks.com/files/6e908d2f26ba44f68ca184d2696ec807/spyware/mbam-setup.exe files3.majorgeeks.com/files/6e908d2f26ba44f68ca184d2696ec807/spyware/mbam-setup.exe files4.majorgeeks.com/files/260c2432a0eecc28ce03c10dadc078a4/diagnostics/installspeedfan437.exe files4.majorgeeks.com/files/260c2432a0eecc28ce03c10dadc078a4/diagnostics/installspeedfan437.exe files4.majorgeeks.com/files/260c2432a0eecc28ce03c10dadc078a4/drives/hdtune_255.exe files4.majorgeeks.com/files/260c2432a0eecc28ce03c10dadc078a4/drives/hdtune_255.exe files4.majorgeeks.com/files/260c2432a0eecc28ce03c10dadc078a4/spyware/SUPERAntiSpyware.exe files4.majorgeeks.com/files/260c2432a0eecc28ce03c10dadc078a4/spyware/SUPERAntiSpyware.exe http://majorgeeks.com/downloadget6037-14-7c08dd800fcc8e80b6c3559d43725886.html majorgeeks.com/downloadget5033-1-576a551d93f0b5e0cba0fbfeb793a566.html majorgeeks.com/downloadget5829-1-6bc8e8c296a0d1026397e20d4261e9f4.html URL=downloadget5033-1-576a551d93f0b5e0cba0fbfeb793a566.html URL=downloadget5829-1-6bc8e8c296a0d1026397e20d4261e9f4.html Edited March 16, 2009 by FranciscoR
CybTekSol
I do prefer MG to Softpedia (I'm still in shock with the user agent issue). I totally agree with that, in addition to Softpedia's hypertext inconsistencies within their app info and download pages. Man... I would hate to be their webmaster!
