Hello, and thanks a lot for Ketarin. I came to know of it yesterday, and find it so great that I'm setting up an entry for every program I download.
I have a suggestion though, for having a more flexible way to dig the download URL in a web site. I thought of this while trying to create the entry for LAME from rarewares.org -- wasn't able to do this with current version of Ketarin.
- Allow browsing through several HTTP pages while gathering variables, one after another. This would be doable if the field "Contents from URL" in the variable definition window accepted previously defined variables itself. Thus, I could first create variable X by extracting an URL from a web page, then create variable Y by looking up the page pointed to by X.
- Allow hierarchical regular expressions, each working on the result of a previous one. This could be done by allowing to get a contents not only from "Contents from URL" but also from a variable. A user-friendly way to implement this would be to replace "Contents from URL" with a drop-down list "Contents from URL" and "Contents from string", and then, based on this, fetch data from URL or just use what's in the field. Note that string replacement suggested above is used here.
These changes would need an order on variables, so buttons "Up" and "Down" would be required for ordering variables.
