Exeption error every time when saving any app...

[Tomorrow]

First got an error(quote 1) an then every time i do App-Edit-OK i get the second error(quote 2 and picture).After i click Continue everything goes as normal.When i click Quit Ketarin quits.Everything else works as expected so i have not noticed anything else bad(yet).

MySQL is crashing at the server for some reason. Unfortunately, that's really all we can tell from these logs.

Server returned a fault exception: [1] Unhandled PDOException exception:SQLSTATE[HY000] [2002] Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (13)

That means MySQL is crashing. It could be caused by your submission/search, but the bottom line is that it is crashing. This is likely caused by malformed or unsanitized data being pushed into an SQL query.

 

This line suggests it's related to the XML formatting bug:

Response from server does not contain valid XML. ---> System.Xml.XmlException: Data at the root level is invalid. Line 2, position 1

 

Again, this is guesswork, but the submission has to perform some form of database insert, which then may perform some form of validation. If the validation passes the broken (CDATA issues) XML thru the validator, and decides to exit instead of continue, you'll get what amounts to a crash condition. Depending on how the data is stored in MySQL, this could happen before or after the data is inserted into the library.

Well i get the same crash by simply trying to view TOP50 apps from online database.Also just noticed that changes i make while Ketarin is running are not actually stored.When i reopen Ketarin all of my previous changes are gone.

 

I took and manually corrected all broken CDATA brackets and other issues i could find.Then imported the xml into an empty Ketarin on a clean install(Virtual Machine) but got exactly the same error.I got this error even with empty Ketarin trying to view TOP50 on VM.

 

As i said other Ketarin functions like updating,exports and installs seem to work fine despite this issue.

I'm not able to interact with the server either, but that shouldn't affect your ability to save changes to your apps UNLESS the apps you're editing/adding are all being pushed to the online db. That is, currently you can't "save" a db-related app profile unless it can properly interact with the db. This failure would make perfect sense if the MySQL db is crashed or not starting correctly. Alternatively, Tomorrow, if the apps you're editing are NOT using any online functionality, you may be NTFS rigths. Any chance your user account doesn't have rights to make changes in the folder that the db is stored in or the file has it's readonly bit set? This would explain a lot.

BINGO! .Seems that it's not a problem on my end at all.Thanks for letting me know that you have problems too.I was thinking that im slowly starting to see hallucinations here.Wonder why noone else has complained about this yet?.

And yes nearly all my apps are shared(exept few old/local ones).I can now save all changes.

Nope i have full read/write rights across all my disks and im using admin account(UAC off)

(This is getting annoying. PHP/XML/RPC/PDO features really seem not to be reliable at all. Something always breaks in one way or another.)

Have you figured out what's causing it? If not necessary, block 3306 to prevent any potential crash bugs from external authenticators. Chances are, you don't need 3306 available externally.

I believe the upgrade of the database engine caused the issue. Nothing too serious.
