Hi,

new beta, new thread:

Beta 8

*Ketarin now internally also stores relative paths to files, so that changes of drive letters (USB sticks) will not cause Ketarin to forget where the files are located

*Make placeholder dialog remember the last position

*Installing applications: Expansion state is now remembered

!Fixed: 'Edit Variables' dialog no longer jumps to regex match

!Fixed: After deleting all applications, list shows "Loading applications..."

!Fixed: Installing applications dialog should not be maximisable

http://www.ketarin.org/downloads/Ketarin/Ketarin-1.5.0.b8.zip

Any more feedback on the sf:// protocol yet? If no one either uses it or if no one can get it to work, I will remove this feature.

Beta 9

+Function split now supports a negative index to select an item counting from the end of the array

+Update and install context menu iten

+Added "Details view" option to app selection dialog (setup)

*Sourceforge: Now supports file names with whitespace

*Sourceforge: Now Supports URL scheme "downloads.sourceforge.net"

*When installing, download progress is shown with the progress bar

*Event list now shows tooltips for too long entries

*Exit code 2 (pre-update) and {preupdate-url}

*Adjusted Tutorial URL

!Fixed: Start/End variables do not show match automatically

To be honest i haven't given this feature a try because i have no sf broken jobs (until today) or enough sf jobs to test with ... i will be posting some feedback in the next couple of days

I personally wasn't able to get the sf:// protocol to work sooooo that'd be a 'bugger that' from me.

Fixed my sourceforge woes with the using (!) as my user agent.

Out of curiosity was the variable for the execute after download thing done?

As in you could put {InstallInstructions} into the "Execute after download" section and it would then just run the install instructions after the download.

Only reason why i'm curious is because the Update all and Install all option doesn't use multiple threads like the others do, I assume this is intentional because of how it handles "install" information. Just hate seeing it go one by one when I have so many apps, none of my programs install instructions clashed so it could easily go parallel rather than sequential.

Regarding the whole 'cookie' creation thing.

Seeing as we have access to C# script is it possible to use that to create a cookie in the execute command before download?

I know nothing about C# so this is just a query, I assume simple cookies would be attainable. Someone more adept than me however would have to point out how.

I know that Ketarin will eventually natively support this, but i'm just keen to poke.

I'm getting the same SF error as Omniferum @ http://ketarin.canneverbe.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=4269#p4269 Already tried 3 direct downloads' date=' nothing works for me, always receive same message. Plz instruct. BTW all my older SF jobs are broken too, and i can't find a workaround for the moment.[/quote']

And now also

VLC Media Player Source file on server is empty (ContentLength = 0).

Okay i got it working (i was using direct dl link and not redirection link, my mistake). Waaaaaaay better, so far it's a keeper. ;)

So far i detected 2 types of problems with this approach. One are the "direct links" available in pages like

http://sourceforge.net/projects/vlc/files/1.1.4/win32/vlc-1.1.4-win32.7z/download

or

http://sourceforge.net/projects/processhacker/files/processhacker2/processhacker-2.6-bin.zip/download

The other is some "indirect links" don't work at all, i don't say all since i am fetching VLC link in developer page, but my previous PortableApps jobs didn't work for me, for instance,

http://portableapps.com/apps/utilities/7-zip_portable

I also needed to update Keepass job (see links in page below also)

http://keepass.info/download.html

This is the tricky part, other than that the method you recommended seems to be working flawlessly. Of course more users helping to test this would be better.

BTW if you're doing some testing in upcoming hours ... i suggest you follow them on Twitter :) if you didn't do so already, just go @ http://twitter.com/sfnet_ops and you will know why.

Two types of problems...doesn't the first one actually work?

You mean links like http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/vlc/1.1.4/win32/vlc-1.1.4-win32.7z?r=http%3A%2F%2Fketarin.canneverbe.com%2Fforum%2Fpost.php%3Ftid%3D557%26qid%3D4314&ts=1286562757&use_mirror=ovh

No they don't work for me, maybe i'm doing something wrong?

The "direct link" on these pages are not the actual urls to the files to download.

To correct url are http://freefr.dl.sourceforge.net/project/vlc/1.1.4/win32/vlc-1.1.4-win32.7z

and http://freefr.dl.sourceforge.net/project/processhacker/processhacker2/processhacker-2.6-bin.zip

where freefr is the sourceforge mirror I use.

I use dozens of applications coming from sourceforge and all are updated fine.

Again, use httpfox firefox extension or an other http sniffer to find the actual url of a package downloaded from sourceforge.

DVD Flick [MLI] (32-64 bit) Invalid username or password for sourceforge (sf://myusername:mypassword@https://sourceforge.net/projects/dvdflick/files/dvdflick/DVD Flick 1.3.0.7/dvdflick_setup_1.3.0.7.exe/download)

I tired both with http://SF and httpS://SF , with or without referrer.

User and pass are ok (I tried via browser).

No luck:

Status: Connecting to frs.sourceforge.net...
Response: fzSftp started
Command: open "myusername,dvdflick@frs.sourceforge.net" 22
Command: Trust new Hostkey: Once
Command: Pass: **********************
Error: Authentication failed.
Error: Critical error
Error: Could not connect to server

So it's not a Ketarin fault..

Hope you don't mind but i'm also getting an error with DVD Flick

10-10-2010 12:03:20: SF#2_3: Failed, Source file on server is empty (ContentLength = 0).

Although for me it's not related to authentication since all my other 'experimental sf jobs' work fine

0-10-2010 11:53:33: SF#2_1: Replacing {redir} in 'sf://myusername:mypassword@{redir}' with 'http://sourceforge.net/projects/vlc/files/1.1.4/win32/vlc-1.1.4-win32.7z/download'
10-10-2010 11:53:36: SF#2_1: Server source file: //sourceforge.net/projects/vlc/files/1.1.4/win32/vlc-1.1.4-win32.7z/download
10-10-2010 11:53:36: SF#2_1: Determined target file name: D:\USB-Toolkit\Test\vlc-1.1.4-win32.7z
10-10-2010 11:53:36: SF#2_1: Checking if update is required...
10-10-2010 11:53:36: SF#2_1: Update not required, since date and file size remain unchanged
10-10-2010 11:53:37: SF#2_1: Replacing {version} in '{version}' with '1.1.4'
10-10-2010

This is probably not helpful but single mirror method still does it's job (for instance using http://netcologne.dl.sourceforge.net/project/dvdflick/dvdflick/DVD%20Flick%201.3.0.7/dvdflick_setup_1.3.0.7.exe)

10-10-2010 12:33:56: SF#2_3: Using referer: (none)
10-10-2010 12:33:57: SF#2_3: Server source file: /project/dvdflick/dvdflick/DVD%20Flick%201.3.0.7/dvdflick_setup_1.3.0.7.exe
10-10-2010 12:33:57: SF#2_3: Determined target file name: D:\USB-Toolkit\Test\dvdflick_setup_1.3.0.7.exe
10-10-2010 12:33:57: SF#2_3: Checking if update is required...
10-10-2010 12:33:57: SF#2_3: Update required, 'D:\USB-Toolkit\Test\dvdflick_setup_1.3.0.7.exe' does not yet exist
10-10-2010 12:33:57: SF#2_3: Skipped downloading updates

Hm, I don't know how to make SCP work...maybe there are some settings in the user profile to enable SCP access? BTW - you should probably not include the project name to the user name if you are not the owner of the project.

@josh: Which source URL do you use for DVDFlick?

Yes it starts faster. On my netbook (512mb of ram) the loading time of b9 is half that of b8. And it starts also faster compared to the last stable version (v1.1.4.344). There is also a noticeable difference on my working computer (i7 + 12gb of ram) but not that much.
