floele
I always have trouble with finding what to do next for an application (other than fixing bugs). In case of CDBurnerXP I created a UserVoice forum (check http://cdburnerxp.uservoice.com/forums/165656-feature-requests) so that I see what people demand most. It has the disadvantage that it will get attention to features I don't have sufficient time to implement, but other than that it's a very good tool. I still have quite a large Ketarin todo list on my desktop and think it would be a good idea to put all open suggestions into a UserVoice forum so that everyone can vote on it and I get a better feeling for what I should tackle next. Thoughts?
GaronneBC
Sounds nice. Don (XYplorer) just added a sub-forum "Wishes". That might do, too... But do as you prefer.
shawn
I'm in. UserVoice is so much easier than trying to manage feature requests and "+1" in a forum.
floele
Yes, a forum always has the disadvantage that you still don't know what to do next I'll set up a site, fill it with the content of my todo list and let you vote.
floele
Hm looks like they no longer provide a free plan. Even though affording it is not a problem, 20 USD/mo is terribly overpriced for the most basic plan (which is nothing but a better to-do list) in my opinion. Need to look for alternatives first. UksusoFF
Maybe some alternatives: https://www.useresponse.com http://webmasters.stackexchange.com/questions/1524/is-there-a-self-hosted-solution-similar-to-uservoice ? Or GitHub also having issues which can be used for feature request?
floele
I tried userresponse.com, but what I don't like about it is that you can only have one vote per feature apparently. I set up a demo site here: https://ketarin.useresponse.com/topics More suitable seems userecho, see the following demo site (and it might even be free depending on the features I need): https://ketarin.userecho.com/list/44339-general/?category=0 What do you think about the last option? shawn
If we're going to keep it, make sure there's a link in the forum header.
floele
OK, I'll add the content of my todo list this week and then you can vote (and I'll add a link there).
floele
Alright, I'm finally done. Please cast your votes so we can see which desires emerge (or persist)
floele
Only 5 out of 22 ideas I took out of my todo list got votes? Quite modest I'd say
