OT to Ketarin: What is your favorite Search Engine?

Yeah, I easily chose google because it had the most relevant results. Bing was all about keratin. I've tried to use Bing a few times for regular searches and the results were hardly good. Also the layout of the search results Suck. From capital S.

You, me and a lot of people like us, I did 5 searches and I always found out where Google was. But the results - well, no way to tell how acurate this is, specially if you think it's being done by a M$ employe - after 550,000 queries are surprisingly close, but you do have to consider the most used search terms (and the images search) . BTW, I think we found a bug as searching for 'ketarin' with Bing does NOT return 'keratin'. =)

I haven't read the comments before but image search doesn't seem relevant to results (only 10,000 image searches).

Speaking of searches FranciscoR, I have been playing with Katapulco lately (last 2 months or so)... a rather interesting (but not all inclusive) 'shortcut based' search engine interface.

Interesting, I do that with Firefox 'smart keywords', that's all inclusive (for my needs). =) Actually, this isn't OT to Ketarin at all, I use 'mg' for MajorGeeks, 'sp' for Softpedia, 'fh' for Filehippo to search those websites directly from the FF Location bar.

I do also FranciscoR... but my collection is limited as of now. I have only defined 25 or so.

FWIW I don't have a favorite, exactly... I use search engines that are optimized for the material I'm interested in. Wolfram Alpha is the one I use the most often, because it targets my typical areas of interest.

 

For generalized searches, I use two or three and review hits from all. Google, Yahoo and Ask I use most often.

 

Bing blows.
