dutchclimber
Hi all, Not sure if this is a bug or that I just get it wrong, but I tried the use of PAD files, as follows: Application name: CDburnerXP Download source URL: http://cdburnerxp.se/rss/padfile.xml Save in folder: c:\ketarin\download Advanced settings: Enabled is true Beta is default Rest is empty/unchecked It DOES download the file, but I still get a timeout Any ideas? CybTekSol
Are you 'scraping' the version? Try this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-16"?> <Jobs> <ApplicationJob xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"> <DownloadBeta>Default</DownloadBeta> <DownloadDate xsi:nil="true" /> <CheckForUpdatesOnly>false</CheckForUpdatesOnly> <VariableChangeIndicator>{version}</VariableChangeIndicator> <CanBeShared>true</CanBeShared> <ShareApplication>false</ShareApplication> <ExclusiveDownload>false</ExclusiveDownload> <HttpReferer /> <Variables> <item> <key> <string>version</string> </key> <value> <UrlVariable> <RegexRightToLeft>false</RegexRightToLeft> <VariableType>RegularExpression</VariableType> <Regex>(?:\<Program_Version\>)(Beta.+?|Build.+?|\d.*?)(?:[\s\s]|<|&)</Regex> <Url>http://cdburnerxp.se/rss/padfile.xml</Url> <Name>version</Name> </UrlVariable> </value> </item> </Variables> <ExecuteCommand /> <ExecutePreCommand /> <Category>CD-DVD</Category> <SourceType>FixedUrl</SourceType> <PreviousLocation /> <DeletePreviousFile>false</DeletePreviousFile> <Enabled>true</Enabled> <FileHippoId /> <LastUpdated xsi:nil="true" /> <TargetPath>{target}\{category}\{appname:regexreplace:(\w+[\s]?\w+)(\s\(\w+\))?:$1}\{appname:replace: :_}_v{version:replace: :_}.{url:ext}</TargetPath> <FixedDownloadUrl>http://cdburnerxp.se/rss/padfile.xml</FixedDownloadUrl> <Name>CDBurnerXP</Name> </ApplicationJob> </Jobs> Modify it to your needs. Stalker
Wasn't the idea of PAD file support that you don't have to manually do anything ?
floele
Well, currently only the download location is being scraped from it.
Stalker
Oh, too bad. I was hoping to move some of my entries to PAD files to avoid long-winded regexes.
CybTekSol
Oh, too bad. I was hoping to move some of my entries to PAD files to avoid long-winded regexes. I have developed a 'Generic Template for PADfiles' based on the above example and I will post it if you are interested Stalker. It works very well so far. Stalker
Well, the main idea behind moving to PADs is that X-Path (and I'm guessing that's all you need to get info from a simple XML such as PAD) is faster than regex with submatches so I wanted to do it for performance reasons. floele
Actually, the performance shouldn't matter. As long as you are requesting content from the web, this will always be the slowest part (unless you exaggerate with regex complexity).
Stalker
Well yeah, it's just that if there's a way to do it quicker I prefer to do it. Maybe some time in the future all those servers will actually use up my 20Mbit bandwith for good
CybTekSol
Maybe some time in the future all those servers will actually use up my 20Mbit bandwith for good 20Mbit bandwidth Stalker? Man... now I have 'bandwidth envy'! LOL...
