  1. Updating and delting apps

I've noticed that if I have the option "Always delete previously downloaded file" this doesn't seem to work to well when updating, so in the commands before download I add the del option to remove the file first but that doesn't get removed either. For example 7zip 12/02/2018 11:05:53 AM: Update finished 12/02/2018 11:08:22 AM: Update started with 1 application(s) 12/02/2018 11:08:23 AM: 7z x64: Using referer: (none) 12/02/2018 11:08:25 AM: 7z x64: Server source file: /download/file/b721c53126d57c154cf80d79b9731992f8a014c899bac6eda1264e1eeb54d20f 12/02/2018 11:08:25 AM: 7z x64: Determined target file name: d:\GEGeek_Toolkit\ProgramFiles\Apps To Install\7z x64\7z1801.exe 12/02/2018 11:08:25 AM: 7z x64: Checking if update is required... 12/02/2018 11:08:25 AM: 7z x64: Update required, 'd:\GEGeek_Toolkit\ProgramFiles\Apps To Install\7z x64\7z1801.exe' does not yet exist 12/02/2018 11:08:25 AM: 7z x64: Skipped downloading updates 12/02/2018 11:08:25 AM: Update finished I click update d:\GEGeek_Toolkit>ren "d:\GEGeek_Toolkit\ProgramFiles\Apps To Install\7z x64\7z1801.exe" 7z_x64.exe A duplicate file name exists, or the file << Why didn't the app delete the previous file? cannot be found. So I add del "{file}" 7z_x64.exe to remove this file before downloading and untick the "Always delete previously downloaded file" 12/02/2018 11:12:21 AM: 7z x64: Executing command: ren "d:\GEGeek_Toolkit\ProgramFiles\Apps To Install\7z x64\7z1801.exe" 7z_x64.exe 12/02/2018 11:12:21 AM: 7z x64: Command result: Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.16299.192] (c) 2017 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved. d:\GEGeek_Toolkit>ren "d:\GEGeek_Toolkit\ProgramFiles\Apps To Install\7z x64\7z1801.exe" 7z_x64.exe A duplicate file name exists, or the file cannot be found. Just can't seem to get the app to remove the previous file before downloading. It downloads the latest version and the old file is still in the same directory. 7z.xml
  2. Love all those variables added.
  3. Ketarin 1.8.9

    Anything new planned in the pipeline for release? How come when i run check for update it says yes there is a download, I run update, downloads update, run check for update, says download is available again, in the commands section i have a command to rename the file, but if I try and update the file again it downloads the file but doesn't rename it. Forcing download also doesn't rename the file. Any ideas please? <?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?> <Jobs> <ApplicationJob xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" Guid="d241341a-ce77-4cc7-9478-b6132935d62c"> <WebsiteUrl /> <UserAgent /> <UserNotes /> <LastFileSize>1684480</LastFileSize> <LastFileDate>2018-01-06T07:37:52+10:00</LastFileDate> <IgnoreFileInformation>false</IgnoreFileInformation> <DownloadBeta>Default</DownloadBeta> <DownloadDate xsi:nil="true" /> <CheckForUpdatesOnly>false</CheckForUpdatesOnly> <VariableChangeIndicator /> <HashVariable /> <HashType>None</HashType> <CanBeShared>true</CanBeShared> <ShareApplication>false</ShareApplication> <ExclusiveDownload>false</ExclusiveDownload> <HttpReferer /> <SetupInstructions /> <Variables /> <ExecuteCommand>ren "{file}" wfc.exe</ExecuteCommand> <ExecutePreCommand /> <ExecuteCommandType>Batch</ExecuteCommandType> <ExecutePreCommandType>Batch</ExecutePreCommandType> <Category>Apps To Install</Category> <SourceType>FixedUrl</SourceType> <PreviousLocation>d:\GEGeek_Toolkit\ProgramFiles\Apps To Install\WFC\wfc5setup.exe</PreviousLocation> <DeletePreviousFile>true</DeletePreviousFile> <Enabled>true</Enabled> <FileHippoId /> <LastUpdated>2018-01-27T12:41:24.899353+10:00</LastUpdated> <TargetPath>{root}GEGeek_Toolkit\ProgramFiles\{category}\WFC\</TargetPath> <FixedDownloadUrl>http://www.binisoft.org/download/wfc5setup.exe</FixedDownloadUrl> <Name>Windows Firewall Control</Name> </ApplicationJob> </Jobs>
  4. Could not create SSL/TLS

The request was aborted: Could not create SSL/TLS secure channel. Getting this alot, whats happening or whats causing it. Changing through beta to download doesn't make a difference.
  5. Ketarin 1.8.9

Is there anyway to move the custom columns without deleting re adding them?
  6. Ketarin 1.8.9

It doesn't happen all the time but I do get that bug, when I do another check for update it seems to just work. Is it possible to run a custom column that displays the urls in your list that come from FileHippo?
  7. Ketarin 1.8.9

How come when running update it wont show the file size and instead just says unknown?

  9. Columns Question

Is there anyway for me to input a command that will show all the files that are hosted on my server?
  10. Ketarin 1.8.9

'7z' is not recognized as an internal or external command - Why would I be getting this error in the beta after all this time?
  11. Help

I am in serious need of help with my database, it looks like it contains old entries but I dont know how to delete them. When I double click my entry I have no traces of the old entry but if I open the file I can see the old links and they're probably the main reason the links are always getting stuffed up or not downloading correctly. How can I fix this please?
  12. Help

Thanks Shawn, as you can imagine, hundreds of apps to go through
  13. Could not create SSL/TLS

Only from Filehippo happens in 187, I see you fixed it in 188 but you warned me about using 188 on a mass scale
  14. Letter instead of category

    Done, thank you.
  15. Letter instead of category

If I create a new entry from scratch why does it display a letter and not the category I created?
  16. Create Log

How do I create that log? Is this wrong? START Ketarin.exe /database=home_apps /log=FILENAME Because it comes back empty.
  17. Create Log

I double click the batch file Contains: @ECHO OFF start "" /wait G:\Home\Ketarin.exe /database=G:\Home\ home_apps /log=G:\Home\filename.log EXIT It loads the file, Ketarin opens, it creates a log file but the log file is empty. I leave Ketarin open for awhile in case too many apps, but it seems if I have 500 or 5 the log file is still empty. What am I missing here, can't be this hard. I also checked the log permissions and changed the permissions so its full control and not read only. It doesn't seem to make a difference if the file is home_apps or home_apps.db It creates the log file just nothing is written to it. I've also tested from a command prompt and elevated and same thing. Thanks for trying to help me.
  18. Create Log

I am running the command from a batch file Yes running the batch file from where Ketarin is located Database is in the same directory next to batch and ketarin Windows 10 Home No networks Standard process
  19. Create Log

So when I run that command this is what happens and yes the database is in the same directory as the exe I run the batch file, Ketarin opens, the cmd window closes, this file is created home_apps.db_2017-08-19.bak I close Ketarin and that's it. So nothing is exported to XML Nothing in the AppData folder I also don't get any file created ending in .log.
  20. Create Log

Doesnt do anything, Ketarin opens then you close it and nothing, no log files appear.
  21. Create Log

    Any help please?
  22. Create Log

This command wont work because it doesn't have a trailing .db start "" /wait Ketarin.exe /database=home_apps.db /log=FILENAME.log Its just home_apps It also produces an empty result if I try and add the .db onto the end of it. Also the backup file thats created its usually 1.4MB and now its only 21k
  23. Updating Bug

When I add a new application for example Blah.zip and rename the AllApps to Blah and head on over too Commands and see this: 7z x "{file}" -o"{root}GEGeek_Toolkit\ProgramFiles\{category}\Blah\" -y del /q "{root}GEGeek_Toolkit\ProgramFiles\{category}\Blah\*.zip" When the file is first update, Blah.zip is downloaded, extracted, then deleted. But when running Check For Update and we come across this folder, the update will always tell the user the Blah folder an update is required because Blah.zip can't be located so we can't run a check to see if there is an update, so we must now instruct you to download the new update and repeat the process above. So lets remove this line: del /q "{root}GEGeek_Toolkit\ProgramFiles\{category}\Blah\*.zip" We try again and now we've all green ticks, but now we've a bigger problem. If Company Blah releases an update and inside the original Blah.zip it sais Blah but the new update they release is called Blah 2.0 then we've a problem because the original folder called Blah will still be there and a disaster in the making. Lets go ahead 1 year and now the Blah folder has 50 updated folders all different versions. Is there only way to solve this to use that Variable option? Because I can't see any other way to check for an update without the file zip physically being located in the folder. Thank you.
  24. Updating Bug

So how can I rectify the issue I have and set it back to the beginning? Because when I select all and run a check for update 90% come back green ticked even though the files haven't been downloaded. Any help please. Thanks Jason
  25. Ketarin 1.8.9

    So I put your latest beta to the toolkit and found that if I have the "Ignore File Information" unticked and I check for an update it needs updating, once updated I check again and it still says it needs an update. Removing the entry and re-adding doesn't seem to make any difference. Closing Ketarin and re-opening doesn't seem to make any difference This is the file I tested on: Portable Update <?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?> <Jobs> <ApplicationJob xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" Guid="e4a8d52f-0a6c-4cc2-bcdf-d1fa75d7c1be"> <WebsiteUrl>http://download.wsusoffline.net</WebsiteUrl> <UserAgent /> <UserNotes /> <LastFileSize>214469</LastFileSize> <LastFileDate>2016-07-13T01:27:34+10:00</LastFileDate> <IgnoreFileInformation>false</IgnoreFileInformation> <DownloadBeta>Default</DownloadBeta> <DownloadDate>2013-02-25T10:28:28</DownloadDate> <CheckForUpdatesOnly>false</CheckForUpdatesOnly> <VariableChangeIndicator /> <HashVariable /> <HashType>None</HashType> <CanBeShared>true</CanBeShared> <ShareApplication>false</ShareApplication> <ExclusiveDownload>false</ExclusiveDownload> <HttpReferer /> <SetupInstructions /> <Variables /> <ExecuteCommand>7z x "{file}" -o"{root}GEGeek_Toolkit\ProgramFiles\{category}\Portable Update\" -y del /q "{root}GEGeek_Toolkit\ProgramFiles\{category}\Portable Update\*.zip"</ExecuteCommand> <ExecutePreCommand /> <ExecuteCommandType>Batch</ExecuteCommandType> <ExecutePreCommandType>Batch</ExecutePreCommandType> <Category>Windows Updates</Category> <SourceType>FixedUrl</SourceType> <PreviousLocation>i:\GEGeek_Toolkit\ProgramFiles\Windows Updates\Portable Update\PortUp.zip</PreviousLocation> <DeletePreviousFile>true</DeletePreviousFile> <Enabled>true</Enabled> <FileHippoId /> <LastUpdated>2017-08-02T14:13:27.7010078+10:00</LastUpdated> <TargetPath>{root}GEGeek_Toolkit\ProgramFiles\{category}\Portable Update\</TargetPath> <FixedDownloadUrl>http://www.portableupdate.com/public/PortUp.zip</FixedDownloadUrl> <Name>Portable Update</Name> </ApplicationJob> </Jobs> I am at a lost now. 795 applications all seem to be a dud and returning false information.
